Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10 1949. She is an American investor and speaker as well as consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's original Shark investors, has been a part of each episode of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, the most significant being a $350,000 deal that covered 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. Her family often depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who would drink occasionally and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education before discovering that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic primary school within her community and started the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. After failing several classes during her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
